Born in 2000: the Metal Dragon
If you were born in 2000, your Chinese zodiac sign is the Dragon 龙, and the year's Heavenly Stem is Geng, which gives the year its element: Metal. So a full 2000 reading is a Metal Dragon. People born in 2000 turn 26 years old in 2026 (or have already, depending on the birthday).
The one exception: January and February birthdays
The Chinese zodiac year does not start on January 1. In 2000, Lunar New Year fell on 2000-02-05. Anyone born in 2000 before that date belongs to the previous year's animal — use the homepage finder with an exact birth date and it handles the boundary for you.
Metal Dragon personality, briefly
Confident, energetic and a little larger than life, the Dragon is the only mythical animal on the wheel and acts like it. Dragons chase big ideas and high standards, and can be impatient with small talk and slow starts. The Metal stem is traditionally said to shade that character — Metal adds precision, resolve and a taste for high standards. One sentence is all a birth year can honestly carry; the rest is entertainment.
