Born in 1987: the Fire Rabbit
If you were born in 1987, your Chinese zodiac sign is the Rabbit 兔, and the year's Heavenly Stem is Ding, which gives the year its element: Fire. So a full 1987 reading is a Fire Rabbit. People born in 1987 turn 39 years old in 2026 (or have already, depending on the birthday).
The one exception: January and February birthdays
The Chinese zodiac year does not start on January 1. In 1987, Lunar New Year fell on 1987-01-29. Anyone born in 1987 before that date belongs to the previous year's animal — use the homepage finder with an exact birth date and it handles the boundary for you.
Fire Rabbit personality, briefly
Gentle, diplomatic and quietly sharp, the Rabbit wins by keeping the peace and picking the right moment. Rabbits dislike conflict and open confrontation, but underestimate their resolve at your peril. The Fire stem is traditionally said to shade that character — Fire adds warmth, visibility and a shorter fuse. One sentence is all a birth year can honestly carry; the rest is entertainment.
